When I was growing up my parents’ bedroom was do

When I was growing up my parents’ bedroom was downstairs and I could hear the radio playing all night. When this song would come on, I would immediately wake up and just listen to it and fall back asleep after it was over. It is my favorite song. I played it in my first talent show as a child. I have been singing this song in performances ever since then. I always say that I will sing it until the day I die because I love this song so much. My favorite version of it is by Merrilee Rush. This was my mother-in-law’s hat who passed away several years ago. It is one of the few precious keepsakes I have to remind me of her. When I wear the hat, I feel like there is a part of her that is still with me. I wore it for some of the pictures in my most recent photo shoot. This week is Americana Fest 2024! What a great way

This week is Americana Fest 2024! What a great way to lead into it by seeing Emmylou Harris (bucket list ✅) and Ricky Staggs and the Whites (bucket list ✅) I saw them at The City Winery in Nashville. The duck tacos and the awesome company made the night complete. It was great to hear those legendary voices and it benefited homeless dogs. A win-win all around ❤️

I can’t describe how bad of a break up I went through before I had written this song. It was one of those break ups that brought tears streaming down my face every day for months. I managed to take this bad situation and turn it into a song that explains the power music has to help us overcome. The song is on my latest album Believin’ Is Seein’. My sweet fur babies turn 14 today!! I remember bringing them home on Thanksgiving Eve. From that moment on it has been 14 years of unconditional love. No matter how challenging my day I knew that I would walk in the door to these precious faces wagging their tails and so happy to see me. If they only knew the joy and emotional therapy they have given me. Today I snuggle on the couch feeling grateful for these sweet babies ♥️
